Livin' la Vida Small Town

Well naturally...most of my life, I have done just that. However experiencing it as a single almost 30-something.. that is entirely different.
Entertainment is something you work very diligently at. If you're lucky you may even have fun. Some things to do would include riding your bike around town, looking for different dog breeds. Plant a garden...this ensures you will have to spend time watering and pulling weeds. One thing about plotting out your small town days, plan ahead always be thinking of the next idle hour.
Sit on the porch and wave as people drive by over and over and over. (Some people do not put as much effort into their daily activities and pass their time draining a full tank of gas.) Never finish a project- again planning ahead. Example, my to do list every week says 'Laundry' this does not happen every week, because it takes a while to do and that could make for a lovely Saturday. Full of freshness and folding.
But it is not all fun and games either.
One oh so dreadful pitfall in the society of the small townies. Relationships. If you don't have one, someone will find you one. Whether they now you or not. The names of unaware townie men are so innocently offered up. Sometimes you find yourself trying so hard to politely turn down these rude intrusive offerings. You may risk entering the dark side of the grapevine, but hey somewhere someone else might just think you are engaged. Yes, I have heard the rumor.
Always be wary of said grapevine. It can and has destroyed lives.
The townies are good people (I are one- snort!). Hospitable, curious, and often helpful (the good kind). And hey the traffic isn't so bad.
